Three Months Old Today

Miss Moxie is getting big, and today marks three months of her being on earth.

We've had her just a short three weeks and are absolutely in love. It's amazing what joy a little furry thing can bring.

She's growing so fast, making us laugh, and bringing out feelings I've never known.

How lucky are we?!

Frozen Fun

This little pup loves her frozen carrots.

She plays and prances around them, until the deep freeze wears off.

Then she quickly devours her orange treasure.

A fun and healthy snack!

Here she is, in action...

Shopping for Moxie

Those who know me, understand that I'm quite fond of shopping. Maybe a little too much.

So it's no surprise that my "hobby" has extended to miss Moxie.

As you can see, I went a bit nuts with four monogrammed snuggle blankets (three behind her and one below).

What can I say, this mom loves to shop. And this baby loves her blankies.

Thanks to Land of Nod for making such great snuggle blankets.

Moxie's Getting Social

This little pup is beefing up her social media presence and we're proud to announce her Instagram account and Twitter feed.

You can find her at Moxie_The_Frenchie on Insta, and @GotMoxieMarie on Twitter.

When it comes to Instagram, you can expect lots of pictures. If you're a big fan of puppies, Frenchies and particularly Moxie, you're in for photos galore from her crazy dog mom.

And on Twitter, we'll be sharing our blog posts, RT-ing good Frenchie news and gossip and sharing short updates on our adventures.

So follow along with the fun and we'll be sure to keep the pics and posts coming!

First Trip to the Vet

Our good girl Moxie made her first visit to the vet's today and couldn't have been better. From being on a metal table/scale, to a temperature check (and not in her mouth), she was calm, cool and collected. We pet parents sure were proud!

We were the first appointment, so only spent a few in the waiting room, and our little one just hung out in the travel carrier, popping her head out here and there to see the new surroundings.

We met with Dr. Lester, at the Seaport Animal Hospital, who was friendly, knowledgable and just what I was hoping for. In fact, she called to follow-up after Moxie went home and left a very nice voicemail - above and beyond from what I was expecting.

After a brief consult to get to know the Dr. and she to know Moxie, she and her assistant got to work taking the temp, checking her from head to toe, and administering the vaccines. I even helped out with weighing her.

And she's lighter than we both thought!

After a good exam, we did learn that she had a little yeast infection in her ears (which I've heard is common for Frenchies) as well as the sniffles/upper respiratory infection. She's being treated for both and we do hope she feels better soon, as the meds are really knocking her for a loop.

Rob had been reporting how f-ed up she was acting this afternoon, for lack of a better term. And while I know that vaccines have a tendency to throw pups (and babies for a loop), she's really out of it. Sleeping mostly, and then up for a few to play (such as right before and when I arrived home at 7:30), she's back to sleeping again and not feeling well.

I plan to give the Dr. a quick call tomorrow, just to see what she thinks and if she may want to reduce the dosage a bit (it's a liquid medicine). It may be par for the course, but I'd like to confirm.

Maybe I'm a crazy dog mom. And maybe that's okay!

The "New Room" for Moxie

Now that our terrace is puppy-proofed (thanks to handy-work from Rob), Moxie has access to the "yard" and is loving it.

We've been out a few times today - early this morning, this afternoon with some visitors of "the court," and just now.

While she was initially eating the artificial grass when released on to the terrace, that seems to have worn off considerably (and quickly) and she is good just playing and enjoying the outdoors.

Not only did I love the fact that we had a terrace on our 17th floor apartment, but I also was thrilled when we got furniture, later nice fake grass. And now, we have  Moxie to enjoy it with! Very thankful for such a great space.

It's already been wonderful to have her out there with me and I look forward to late summer evenings and fall mornings, sipping wine or coffee respectively, relaxing with her, and enjoying the view from our "little piece of the country."

Fun Day!

We had a few friends over today and I took this opportunity to break out some "paw-ty" paper products, which I've been dying to use.

Although Moxie spent most of the day sleeping, despite having guests, we still had a great day. I do admit that I wish she were awake more, but at the crazy rate she's growing, it's no surprise her little body needs lots of rest.

We hung out, enjoyed mimosas, cheeses, hot honey and caprese salad -  and frequently tried to wake Moxie up. She briefly emerged from slumber to entertain us all, but we wanted more.

Of course, as soon as everyone left, we had a bat-pig outta hell - much to my delight. Racing around the apartment, it was what I had waited for all day.

And she absolutely loves her new toy, which was a gift today. Another great PetStages one. Perfectly tiny for her little mouth and another freezer baby!
